Commercial

Your load curve already looks like a solar curve

Offices, schools, hospitals and retail draw most of their power between 9 AM and 6 PM — exactly when a rooftop array generates. That overlap is what makes commercial solar pay back quickly, even without a subsidy.

Who this is for

Solar is not universally right, and the segment you sit in changes both the economics and the engineering. These are the situations where this configuration earns its place.

  • Schools and colleges

Daytime-only load, large uninterrupted roof spans and vacation windows for installation. Close to the ideal commercial site, and the saving shows up directly in operating costs.

  • Hospitals and clinics

Round-the-clock load with a heavy daytime peak from imaging, HVAC and sterilisation. We integrate with existing UPS and DG so critical circuits never see a switching transient.

  • Offices and IT parks

Cooling load tracks generation almost hour for hour. Where roof area runs short, solar carports over parking add capacity and shade at the same time.

  • Retail and hospitality

Long operating hours and refrigeration load push self-consumption high. Systems here rarely export much, which is exactly where the economics are strongest.

Typical system sizes

Indicative figures to set expectations. Your site assessment produces the real numbers, which move with roof area, shading and tariff.

Indicative system sizes, suitability, roof area and annual generation
System sizeSuitsRoof neededAnnual generation
25 kWClinic or small office~2,000 sq ft~36,500 units
50 kWSchool block~4,000 sq ft~73,000 units
100 kWMid-size campus~8,000 sq ft~1,46,000 units
250 kWOffice park or hospital~20,000 sq ft~3,65,000 units
500 kWLarge campus~40,000 sq ft~7,30,000 units

Indicative estimates based on 1,460 units per kW per year. Actual output depends on site conditions.

Depreciation instead of subsidy

Commercial consumers are not eligible for PM Surya Ghar, but 40% accelerated depreciation in year one is often worth more. Your accountant will confirm the exact benefit for your tax position.

Self-consumption is the whole game

Every unit consumed on site is worth your full retail tariff; every unit exported settles at a regulator-set rate that is usually lower. We size against your actual load pattern, not just your annual total.

Demand charges stay put

Solar reduces energy charges, not sanctioned-load demand charges. We model both, so the savings figure in your proposal is the one that shows up on the bill.

What we tell you before you sign

  • Installation is planned around your operating hours — vacations, night shifts or weekend windows.
  • A structural audit comes first on older buildings; any reinforcement is quoted upfront.
  • Fire and safety clearances are coordinated with your facilities team.
  • Fixed charges and demand charges remain; only energy charges fall.
  • Roofs with servicing traffic get walkways designed in so maintenance does not damage modules.
  • If your load is largely at night, we will tell you solar is not the right first investment.

Solar Panels

Where sunlight becomes DC power

Modules convert sunlight into direct current and account for most of the system's cost and all of its output. We specify ALMM-listed panels with a linear performance warranty rather than a step warranty.

Why Us

Why Choose ArkMitra?

Solar is a twenty-five year commitment. These are the things that decide whether it holds up.

  • MNRE Compliant & ALMM Approved

Every system is built to MNRE specifications using ALMM-listed modules, so subsidy eligibility is never in question.

  • Expert Engineers & Quality Installation

Design and installation handled by our own engineering team, with structural and electrical checks at every stage.

  • Subsidy & Net Metering Assistance

National Portal registration, DISCOM applications and net-meter follow-up are handled on your behalf, start to finish.

  • 5 Years Free AMC & Lifetime Support

Scheduled maintenance for the first five years at no cost, and a support line that stays reachable long after that.

  • High Quality Components & Safety

Tier-1 modules, BIS-certified inverters, proper earthing and surge protection — the parts nobody sees but everyone depends on.

  • Still comparing quotes?

Send us what you have. We will tell you plainly what is missing from it — component names, structure specification and subsidy treatment are the usual gaps.

Send us twelve months of bills

We will model your load pattern, size against self-consumption and come back with a plant design, clear pricing and a payback you can take to your board.
